woman and orchideaSwelling of the limbs is a classic pregnancy symptom in the last months of pregnancy. Do not panic, just follow our advices below!

Swelling of the limbs, ie the hands and feet, is expected during pregnancy and is usually seen in the last months of pregnancy when it occurs because of fluid retention in the body.

This retention is due to pregnancy, which leads to tissue edema! Most of the time it occurs at the extremities of the legs and hands but also in the face! More specifically, you will notice it on your ankles and fingers!

The phenomenon of swelling is not worth worrying because more than 50% of women are in an interesting way, especially during the last hours of the day when the body may have been standing up during the day. However, when swelling is accompanied by gestational hypertension or a sudden increase in weight, then it is advisable to go to your doctor who will check for any complications in your pregnancy and advise you on how to deal with them.

Get rid of this feeling!

It is true that many of the symptoms of pregnancy can not go through, just after birth. However, you have the ability to do some moves that can really relieve you and make you feel beautiful:

  • It is important to avoid standing up for a long time.
  • Be sure to place your feet often high up during the day. Lie down on your bed or sofa after having placed 2 to 3 pillows on top of each other, where you will touch your tired legs. This attitude stimulates your circulatory system and helps to relieve your body from swelling.
  • If you feel your hands swollen, the best you can do is either sit or lie down to keep them higher than the heart level for just a few minutes!
  • Do not consume too much salt, especially if your pressure is particularly high. Salt in large quantities causes fluid retention and in many cases even causes swelling!
  • Be sure to drink plenty of water to help cleanse your entire body from toxins!
